Coach's MEDLEY - swim notes from Coach Kelly
That was a warm one MO Magicians!
This is the sixth win of the season for our swimmers!
The final score was MO 695 and MB 304
Want more details? Here are the Full Results for MO vs MB

We had several best times on Saturday and I am happy to see swimmers making improvements on both skills and times.  It is really important that swimmers are signed up on time for both this Saturday's meet and All City (DEADLINE FOR BOTH IS JULY 19th!!).  I have to have relays ready for both meets this week and adding even one swimmer can cause a domino effect htat costs me a lot of time.

The 10 and under coaches and I also need families to collect their swim card BEFORE warm ups.  We have not been doing that lately and it is causing added stress.  Thanks for helping with that!

MO caps are 100% needed for our competitions, if you need one please find me on the pool deck!

- Kelly

At all July 19th swim practices the kids will be enjoying a donut and helping to decorate our All City Swim Banners.

Our last home meet on July 22nd will start early at 7:30am!  There will also be SENIOR recognition at this meet.

Swim Stars of the Week
Each week our coaches choose a boy and girl swimmer in each age group that displayed something extra special during that week...it could be awesome sportsmanship, taking on a new challenge, staying super focused during practice, an impressive swim at the meet, an exceptionally sunny attitude, or anything else that represented MO especially well. Check out their picks for this week here: Swim Stars
DEEP DIVE: Notes from Coach Jan

Two dive meets this week kept our divers bouncing.  Delighted to see them thriving and supporting each other.  Tuesday we hosted Shorewood.  Final score Shorewood Hawks 67, Monona Magicians 51.  Then we got half a dive meet compeleted on Friday visiting Parkcreast before the lightning wrapped it up a bit short.

Coaches are working on their costume theme for All City; sounds like super heroes will swoop in.  Speaking of All City, email your questions about that meet back to us and we will answer them in next week's Lane Lines.  In the meantime, check out the All City schedule to get a feel for warm ups on Sunday and your diver's age group one of the other days.

Help Us Thank The Coaches!

Our Swim Coaches and Dive Coaches work incredibly hard all Summer to make our kids better athletes and stronger, kinder people. They're so incredibly awesome, that as a team we give them a little something extra at the end of the season as a thank you for all the extra they do.

Over the next week we'll be collecting monetary donations that we'll use to purchase as many gift cards as we can to distribute among the coaching team. If you'd like to donate, we have some digital accounts to dontate to: Venmo or PayPal. (@RobBeuthling for both; use 1975 to verify Venmo)

End of the Season Banquet!

Please join us July 30th, 2023 at 11:30am at Fireman's Park in Monona to celebrate another successful swim and dive season!

Coaches will review the highlights of the season and celebrate the team's achievements.  Special team awards will be given.

We are still working on some details but it's likely Qdoba will be providing food once again.  There will be a small cost associated with the banquet.  Drinks and treats will also be provided.

In order for us to order enough food for everyone please commit below by July 23rd
