Welcome to the 2023 Week 6 Lane Lines Newsletter!

Our Lane Lines Newsletters are sent weekly throughout the Summer to keep you up to date on all the team happenings—both on and off the deck!  Coach's MEDLEY - swim notes from Coach Kelly

Excellent showing from MO at our recent home meet (almost 200 swimmers)!  Hoping to see a lot of faces at our away meet as well this Saturday.  We have two more opportunities for swimmers to get seed times for All City so I would encourage swimmers to check in with their coaches about their best events.  If you sign up and notice your best time isn't in the seed time window please consider adding a note with a time.  I can manually enter those times during my meet prep.

NEW MO TEAM RECORD was set today!  By Rhys Jenkins - Event 46 Boys 11-12 50M breast stroke.  Way to go Rhys!!

Last home meet on July 22nd will start early! stay tuned.... for further info.  There will also be SENIOR recognition at this meet.   

Swim Stars of the Week

Each week our coaches choose a boy and girl swimmer in each age group that displayed something extra special during that week...it could be awesome sportsmanship, taking on a new challenge, staying super focused during practice, an impressive swim at the meet, an exceptionally sunny attitude, or anything else that represented MO especially well. DEEP DIVE: Notes from Coach Jan

Our home meet against Hawks Landing was a memorable one in so many ways.  Great to see the divers progress.  Final Score MO 51 Hawks Landing 67.

Fundraising!

Thanks everyone who placed a bid during our Silent Auction!  Winners are being notified.

Penny Wars July 10th-14th  

• Money raised by the 2023 Penny Wars will go towards Second Harvest.  
• Team members and families bring in coins to donate to their age group.  Pennies ADD money to age group totals and silver coins SUBTRACT.  The age group with the highest total at the end, WINS!
• For each goal achieved the COACHES will be participating in fun challenges!

Doughnation July 19th-Share Night

• Visit Ian's Pizza at the Garver Feed Mill for dinner this night and part of the proceeds from sales that evening will go Monona Swim and Dive
• Look for a flyer in your child's folder as this must be shown when ordering.

All City DIVE Meet Updates

All City Dive Meet July 24th and 25th.  See their website for all you need to know!

ALL CITY DIVE apparel and other items are available through Simply Swimming and MUST be PRE ORDERED prior to the meet. Here is the LINK to order water bottles, drawstring bags and apparel! Deadline is Thursday, July 13th at 11:59pm! Orders will be ready for pick up at the Shorewood by July 24th. When checking out, please make sure you enter both your billing and shipping address. Simply swimming system requires this. Please contact them if you do not receive an e-mail confirmation after your purchase. Items will not be available to ship to individual families.
